MyStar Design is the online home of Jon Greer. I'm a graphic & web designer based in the North East of England. I've worked as a designer for over ten years and started designing for the web about four years ago. Since then my skills have grown with every project. I produce work for a varied group of clients including most recently a new web site for Knitsley Farm Shop, web design & print for Gateshead Tennis, and branding & print for Spartan Performance, one of the north’s premier strength and fitness training facilities. I am available to work freelance, part-time or full time.
I've been designing websites for about four years and I'm in my element designing for the web. My ability grows with every project. When I'm not working I'm reading about the latest web trends, studying to boost my skills or talking about web design with other geeks.
I study part time, one afternoon a week to keep my skills as up to date as possible.
I'm experienced in working on new brand identities, for a wide range of companies. I am also experienced in carefully working with client's existing branding. Either making sure the brand integrity is maintained or just looking at it from a different perspective.
My biggest branding project to date was to create an identity for a large department store in Huddersfield.
I've consecutively worked as a designer in the print industry for almost the last twelve years. I've amassed a great knowledge of Litho, Digital & Large Format printing processes during this time. I am able to produce press ready artwork for a range of printed products.
I left my last full time job because my role became more of a production manager and less of a designer.
Knitsley Farm Shop approached me to create a new website to replace their outdated one. The site needed to show off their delicious products and promote their national award winning status.
The entire site was designed and built by myself, minus the logo which was from a previous designer. I suggested a content management system, so that the staff can update the site, report the latest news and tell their followers about new products quickly and easily. I even recommended the photographer.
Creative Display specialise in exhibition systems. They asked me to create a website that would act as an online resource for their clients.
The logo design is from a previous designer. I used jQuery galleries to display the companies previous projects.
Rinkidoo was a live college brief, and the company chose my web design and another students logo design. The job is still in progress.
This was my full submission including my logo design
